We built it around one belief: the words inside a video are useful far beyond the player. Students study from them, writers quote them, creators repurpose them, and AI assistants analyze them. Getting to those words should take seconds, not a browser extension and three ads.

TranscriptYou reads the subtitle tracks that already exist on YouTube — the ones creators upload and the automatic captions YouTube generates. We format them into readable, timestamped text. We do not host videos, we do not run our own speech recognition, and we cannot read private or members-only content.
Transcripts are fetched on demand and rendered in your browser. We do not build a library of your requests, and the links you paste are not tied to your identity. The details live in the privacy policy.
